Introducing Tru University

When I started Tru Realty back in 2010, I was shocked by the quality of trained agents in the market. I was operating as an investor/property flipper on the commercial side of the business. It was clearly evident to me that the level of professionalism on the commercial real estate side of the industry is much higher than on the residential side.

The problem (or opportunity) as I saw it was commercial agents treated real estate as a profession; on the residential side, more agents sold real estate as a hobby. When I started working in residential real estate I found myself listing properties and doing the selling agent’s side of the transaction for them. This was the motivation for me to start a different kind of brokerage as I perceived this problem to be an opportunity for change.

My research showed me that very few brokerages had any kind of realtor training curriculum for beginning, mid-level, or seasoned agents. They simply didn’t see this as a need for what I saw as the status quo.

Coincidentally, I had completed an off-market transaction with Asher Cohen, who is now our director of sales. He was experiencing the same thing I was with other agents, and he observed selling agents feeling less than confident in their transactions.

Asher and I aligned on many fronts and decided to work together to build a rock-solid realtor training program that turns agents into closers! We call it Tru University.

Tru University – Realtor Training

Our training curriculum has been tested and refined for nearly 10 years. Tru Realty readily recruits several real estate agents per month to attend our training with Asher. Now, thanks in part to the pandemic, our advanced realtor training program is offered throughout the state in real-time facilitated over Zoom.

Our agents are selling 100% faster than agents who start at other brokerages.

Our agents are required to create a business plan and stick to it. By having a solid foundation, our agents come out of Tru University with what feels like a years’ worth of experience over other realtor training programs.

Over 90% of Tru Realty agents are selling a home within three months of completing our agent training program.
