The Future of Blockchain in Real Estate

Being the owner of a leading real estate brokerage in Phoenix has a tremendous amount of upside. Up until now, I couldn’t really say that making history was one of them. Tru Realty is the first brokerage in the state of Arizona to complete a real estate transaction utilizing blockchain. This is a signature achievement for our brokerage that reinforces our brand’s first adapter mentality for real estate tech.

A Brief Background of Blockchain

A slight but necessary backup here; blockchain is the technology that underpins all digital currency (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, etc.). This tech allows information to be distributed, but not duplicated; it also guarantees a secure transfer. Blockchain allows us to market our listings globally and, when necessary, purchase homes on the international market.

As the human race continues to grow and globalize so does the need to conduct seamless business transactions. As I referenced in a previous article for In Business Phoenix, the need for international transactions has drastically increased these past ten years. Until now, there has not been set standard for executing these transactions in an efficient manner.

Blockchain technology allows buyers to view and express interest in a listing anywhere in the world, finalize all documentation, and complete the transaction using traditional fiat currency or crypto currency, like Bitcoin. This is a game-changer as what was traditionally a very time intensive process for both buyers and sellers is now relatively easy.

First recorded blockchain real estate transaction in Arizona

Tru Realty made history by completing the first recorded blockchain real estate transaction in Arizona.

In fact, we are one of only three brokerages in the United States with this capability. I can speak from experience that it was simple, effortless, and intuitive.

As an industry, we must learn to adapt to our constantly changing technological environment. Tru Realty is committed to embracing the improvements and capabilities that technology can provide our clients and our real estate agents. In the past, our technological capabilities have allowed us to grow and scale across the entire state. Now we can go beyond those borders … far beyond.

At Tru Realty, new technology doesn’t scare us, it excites us. If you want to learn more about our brokerage and what we are doing to distance ourselves from our competition, email me at or give me a call at 480-327-6700.
