At Tru Realty, we are constantly looking at ways to use technology to better serve our clients. As our industry continues to experience a significant and historical change, we feel that staying ahead of technological trends helps us serve our customers better and differentiate our brokerage in the Phoenix real estate market.
Tru Realty is a part of the 20% of U.S. businesses who are currently paperless. To our knowledge we are the only real estate brokerage in Arizona to be paperless. In 2013, Tru Realty was audited by Arizona Department of Real Estate and was placed on the honor roll for superior status in part due to our paperless efforts.
Going paperless meant saying goodbye to clunky file cabinets and saying hello to a cloud based storage solutions that keep your records in a safe, secure and timeless environment. A recent study by the Environmental Protection Agency shows that the U.S. uses approximately 68 million trees each year to produce paper products and that a whopping 45% of printed paper ends up in the garbage producing almost 16 million tons of solid waste.
Our biggest challenge in interacting with the real estate industry in Arizona has been the heavy reliance on paper transactions. Until the rest of the world catches up, we won’t be able to completely eliminate paper waste but we are taking huge steps on having very minimal physical paper in our day to day operations.
To us, going paperless not only helps to conserve our environment but it’s also a great benefit to our agents and more importantly, our clients. Being paperless enhances our ability to share documents, makes document storage more secure and will make document search easier. This also means that they’ll be a few more trees around for us to share with generations to come.
